Smaller jet port with easy pickup/drop off and fast security checkpoints.
I have been coming to this airport for years during my summer vacation. I remember when they didn’t have the terminal upgrade. Easy and fast airport to travel in and out of.
I love this airport! It is one of my favorite airports I have ever been to! Right up there with the open air Hawaii airports! This airport is small and easy to get around, only 10 gates. Lots of comfy seating and rocking chairs. It is incredibly clean and welcoming feeling. It always feels very relaxed and peaceful flying out of this airport. I personally have never seen more than 10 people waiting in the security line and normally it's more like 3 people. For direct flights the prices are pretty good. For long flights with connections it is often a little more expensive than flying to boston, but I think it is worth the extra money.
Pros=Easy to access; Citgo gas nearby for refueling rental car; adequate food options for the size; wonderful customer service at Hertz
Con=Horrible service from American Airlines gate agent "Leo." Evening flight from Portland to Philadelphia was delayed over 2 hours, leading many to miss their connections. Over 20 passengers were booked on next day connections and told they would receive food and hotel vouchers upon arriving in Philly. Complete lie. PHL customer service said they had no rooms left and didn't offer food vouchers. Said that Leo acted out of policy by making such promises and not calling PHL first to confirm. Many of us sleeping in the PHL airport terminal tonight.
