My hubby and I had dinner at this place. I had the stuffed lobster, it was delicious. Plus they give you biscuits and blue berry muffins as an appetizer, they were so good. I ask my very attentive waitress if they sold them, she said no, but she gave me a few to take home.
Reserved birthday party of only 20! The male manager was incredibly rude! We were placed in the back next to the kitchen in an empty restaurant. The room was so filled with smoke that people were coughing and eyes watering! We asked for the issue to be addressed and was told they fixed the problem but yet the smoke was getting worse! The windows were also nailed shut! Finally I asked to relocate our party that we would leave, and not pay for the watered down drinks. And I mean watered down!
Never again!
Went on labor day weekend right at lunch time, which was extremely busy but we could be seated right away. Ordered some raw oysters, which were not super cheap or anything ($4 a piece) but were delicious!! Also their blueberry pie.... wow. My boyfriend got steamed clams and enjoyed it a lot too. Atmosphere was pretty nice, right by the dock and you can sit inside or outside (patio is heated).
Dinner - some people had finished eating their "cold" food, while other hadn't received their food.
The food was great and we didn't have lobsters. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in town.
Have had a couple of terrible meals here, most recently even called to complain to management after our visit. They assured me they would send a gift card to refund the value of our (overpriced) meal, which was never received. There are so many much better restaurants in Portland!

Boone's is not the same as 30 years ago. It's fresh, clean and well staffed.
