The incredibly knowledgeable staff in the vitamin section of the store is second to none! We have a small organic/health store in our town, and I will travel 40 minutes to go to Whole Foods, because they are so knowledgeable and willing to help! Every department definitely specializes in their field and are always so helpful! It's always a pleasure to walk into the store and be met by their gorgeous array of fruits and vegetables and be able to ask any employee a question and be able to trust your getting the right answer! Kudos Portland Whole Foods! You are definitely a cut above the rest!
Whole Foods is still Whole Foods. I've been curious to see the changes wrought by Amazon- and the rumored great prices. I will report that there seemed to not be huge changes. Several items that I always buy there have not changed even a cent in cost. The change I did note was the many items "on Sale". Lots of things are, and the prices were good, and similar to our big stores. The take out and to go foods were too pricey for me, but great smells filled the when she came place ! I looked for my favorite butter, and found it was $3.00 MORE per pound. (That's just ridiculous and had it even been $1.00 more I'd have bought it just because I'm almost out.) I would say be very careful if you live on a budget, as it's easy to get carried away here. If $$$ matters to you, shop with care. It's a wonderful and fun place, but won't be replacing Trader Joe's forward me!!
This is your typical Whole Foods, though the staff is much friendlier and helpful than I’ve encountered in the past at various Whole Foods back in Los Angeles. They offer pickup orders of groceries and items about the store. The coffee bar is fast and willing to accommodate. The price is still on the high side, though perhaps Amazon’s acquisition will drive them down over time.
I used to love going to Whole Foods. They had such a variety of food a lot of vegan options and everything was always in stock. The past month month-and-a-half when I go to Whole Foods the shelves are bare things that used to have they don't have anymore. Staff used to be very friendly now they are getting quite rude. I'm not sure what's happening to Whole Foods. Everything you read said it was going to get better after Amazon purchased it but it has only gone downhill. I'm seriously thinking about trying to find another place to purchase all my plant-based Foods.
Great items and things I wouldn't have known existed! The prices are higher unless you are shopping the sales. If you shops the sales and their brand products it's not that much different than Hannaford. Also the customer service is Great! Not sure if you will like something? Try it and bring it back with your receipt, they will refund! Sometimes you can even try the item right in the store, just find an employee for help!
