I came here on a sunday, didnt get to even eat my burnt pancakes. And they even hid the 2 burnt ones under a good one, so not cool.
Renovated to look rustic and contemporary it's a slightly off kilter version of the Denny's I've come to know. I enjoyed my food, which was prepared exactly to order, I was given kind and attentive service, and enjoyed a clean environment to enjoy my purchases. On the downside, the dinner menu is getting pricy. Prior to gratuity the bill came to $25 for a burger, fries, soda, and an appetizer.
Mainly to schmooze and nosh with a good friend who is Southern. Roomy seating, a rarity these days. My diet is restricted but I always find something good to eat. They had grits for my friend.
I hadn't been to this Denny's in years, and now I know why. I was served a barely warm plate of overdone hash browns, and a grilled ham and cheese made like the "chef" didn't even care. I told the waitress that I wasn't paying for it. I'd taken my two roommates to eat, but I had nothing, and watched them eat, which I paid for. I couldn't order anything else, he would've spit in it.
We started at the Congress street location where we were flat out ignored for 45 minutes. After being seated no one ever came to our table to offer drinks or take an order. So we walked out And went across town to this location where we were taken care of with amazing service, many thanks to the rock star staff at this location.
