went in for lunch; the place was fairly empty. The salads were OK. I did appreciate the waitress's candor. She messed up and switched my tab with another customers, and luckily my check was higher than the other fellow's, but she handled the mishap professionally. Good job!
The restaurant seemed under staffed with poor management, if any at all. We waited way too long for drinks and had to ask another waiter for refills. My husband ordered a medium rare prime rib and it was basically burned. I ordered French onion soup that would have probably been enjoyable had it not set in the food window for 20 minutes as we waited on my husband's burnt steak. The icing on the cake was the kitchen staff yelling at our waitress for the entire restaurant to hear. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Just recently omg Saturday the 23 I experienced one of the worse experience from a disrespectful ungentle man like act of behavior from a security guard. I was upstairs where the pool were just sitting at a table talking to some friends then I heard someone say "who's purse is this". I look at over, my purse that was right on the table literally right next to me was gone. I noticed the security guard took it I said "that's mine" the douche bag didn't stop and proceed to walk away. After a few times yelling out that's mine, I chased him down yelling that's mine. He walked towards the door I asked "how are you going to take someone's purse when they're telling you it's theirs?". He responded yelling in a rude poorly manner "we're closing!" and stormed off. Like what kind of person does that, they never made an announcement they were closing for the night. I was one of the calmest people that night and he thinks he had a right to be so rude and yell and push my purse at me. Such disrespect!!
Quaint pub in the tourist quarter of Portland, ME. Excellent staff and pub-style grub, and ales, including a wide range of fresh seafood. Be careful when ordering...the picture shows a 'side' of cheese & chili skin- on chips (fries) - the waitress asked "is that all you're having ", fortunately my reply was "yes"...had trouble finishing the 'side' serving! Word of Caution: groups of 6 or more on the same bill, automatic 15 % service charge added; individual bills, automatic 18% service charge added.
Lunch here is wonderful. Very nice atmoshere, the aquariums are beautiful. Usually get the Haddock Sandwich. Has always been excellent quality.
