This place is fantastic. I'm a customer for life. Not only do they carry great brands and they have fair pricing. I rated 5 stars because of the exceptional staff. Especially Dave Albert. Dave used to service my vehicles when he was a master Subaru technician. Now that he has a deep passion for bikes his meticulous building and tuning is applied to everything he touches.

The Service Manager, Dave A is the best in town. Not only does he take pride in his work and has a love for biking, he used to work on heavy machinery. Dave has a ton of experience and is super fast. Being someone who races and bangs on my bike, I want things done quick and fixed right... the first time... Love Dave's work and wouldn't go anywhere else when getting my high end bikes fixed.

Dave Albert, Service Manager in the Portland store is one of the best! Takes the time to attend to the details that others would not bother doing and does excellent repair work. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and takes the time to listen and offer great advice. Highly recommend GBS and Dave A!

I love this store! One of the few stores in downtown Portland to offer free parking. Two convenient entrances, bright and clean. The staff had been always friendly to me, always positive and smiling. The don't just talk the talk... they walk it, from advocacy to weekly rides, from long distance trail finishers to Strava warriors. My favorite technician is Dave Albert. Dave had always done excellent work on my tune ups, his tubeless setups never leaked and his advice and work on two custom builds was always impeccable! Thank You!

Everything he has built or repaired for me has been way beyond my expectations.

When it comes to local bike shops you can have the greatest bikes and the largest assortment of parts and accessories, but the people make the difference. Most local bike stores will treat you wonderfully when spending the big dollars on a high end bike however tend to forget you're face or name the second you ride out the front door. Gbs is different in this way, whenever I pop in to grab a new set of grips or even just to fill a water bottle from their tap they remember my name, ask about local trail conditions where I ride and ask how I've been. It's refreshing to deal with people like Dave Albert and Jon Foster who ride the places I ride and care enough to share their passion with even the newest riders.

So, if you want a local place to buy your outdoor sporting goods look no further... If you want the absolute Pinnacle of knowledge and skill when it comes to anything with pedals ask for Dave.
