Despite the older reviews, we opted to try this place out. After thorough inspection of the room, this place really isn't that bad. Yes, it looks dated and the arrangement is strange, but it's actually a decent place to stay. The room is clean, the bed is clean, and the linens are clean. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. The older reviews are not indicative of what it feels and looks like here now!
The room was nice and clean. The only downside was no heat on. It was 25 degrees out side and there was no heat on in the room or hallways. Our room was about 55 degrees when we walked through the door. It took almost 2 hours just to get in the mid 60s.
Dirty and old, the carpets were dirty, the bedspread had a feel of being used a lot. I stayed at building 5, might be the reason why. Free Breakfast was decent.
I am not someone who typically leaves reviews however my experience staying here was beyond awful that I must make it known to others not to make the same mistake as myself by staying here. Our room wasn't clean on arrival after complaining we were told they only had one room left and brought us new towels, being desperate we tried to make the best of the situation by staying. In the night the air conditioner started producing a thick powered that caused us to choke and cough. In the morning we complained again and were told they couldn't help us and if we asked for a new room last night they would have given us a new room (which we were told wasn't an option) then as we finally went to leave we found our car with the windows smashed and everything stolen. The hotel Owners were beyond rude to us and wouldn't even provide us with a dust pan to clean up the broken glass. Never stay here! Please.
I recently stayed an was very pleased. The staff was very kind including the front desk lady who was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very clean breakfast was very good that included hot waffles. I would say this was my best stay in Portland.
